Judy Polumbaum to discuss father’s photography, book

Judy will be providing her book for purchase at a special student price of $15 (regular $25).

Author Judy Polumbaum will visit campus to speak about her new book, Juxtapositions: Images from the Newseum Ted Polumbaum Photo Collection, at 11:15 a.m. April 5 in Franklin Hall 215.

Polumbaum is the daughter Ted Polumbaum, a photojournalist for more than 40 years beginning in the late 1950’s. His work documented news events and social movements in American history, including the civil rights movement and anti-Vietnam War protests. He photographed political figures such as John F. Kennedy, Muhammed Ali and Martin Luther King Jr.

Polumbaum is a former reporter and professor emerita in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa.

The venue for Polumbaum’s talk is adjunct lecturer Chris Howell’s photojournalism class, but there is seating for those who wish to attend.
