The Center for Documentary Research and Practice is co-sponsoring a fall film series highlighting the work of women filmmakers. The series is in partnership with IU Cinema and the School of Art, Architecture, and Design.
The series celebrates filmmakers at the intersection of documentary, experiential cinema and video art.
The first screening, Luz Obscura, is at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at IU Cinema. Director Susana de Sousa Dias will be present at the screening.
The second event will show two films by director Shelly Silver: A Strange New Beauty and What I’m Looking For at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at IU Cinema.
The last screening, Stand in the Stream, is at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at IU Cinema. Director Stanya Kahn will be present to discuss the work.
