Alumnus Ken Beckley, BS’62, will sign copies of his latest book, An Act of Frustration, 5-7 p.m. June 17 at Barnes and Noble in Bloomington.
Published in March, Beckley’s second novel is the story of a small town hardware store owner who sparks a political revolution.
Writing is the latest in several phases of Beckley’s career. He worked as a television news anchor and reporter for 14 years before transitioning into public relations, becoming a senior executive and spokesperson for electronics retailer HH Gregg. From 2002-07, he was president and CEO of the Indiana University Alumni Association.
Now in retirement, Beckley is fulfilling a decades-long goal to write fiction. The success he saw with first novel, Knuckleball: The Uncertainties of (a) Life, in 2012 inspired him to write An Act of Frustration.
Beckley and his wife, Audrey, made a gift to The Media School to support the new broadcast studio in Franklin Hall, which is named in their honor.
