America’s Role in World conference March 29, 30

Syndicated columnist E.J. Dionne and New York Times reporter and IU Poynter Chair Roger Cohen will participate in the second annual America’s Role in the World Conference March 29 and 30.

The IU School of Global and International Studies hosts the conference each year. This year, the theme is “Issues Facing the New President.” Panelists and guests included IU President Michael McRobbie, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, former Sen. Richard Lugar and former Rep. Lee Hamilton.

Cohen, who has been Poynter Chair for the last year, speaks at noon Monday in the Franklin Hall commons.  Dionne is on campus this week as a guest of The Media School’s Speaker Series. He will give his lecture at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Presidents Hall in Franklin Hall.

The event will include discussions and panels that unite scholars, practitioners, national and regional journalists, business leaders and officials from both political parties to identify and debate important issues in from all different perspectives.
