Event technology advancements cost a pretty penny

Andrew Goedde, CEO of production company Goedde Sound and Light, looks back at the stage with a satisfied grin as his production team begins their hour-long teardown at the Bluebird. He said he never understood the importance of good production until seeing jam band Dopapod, one of his biggest inspirations.

“When I got into Dopapod, I really realized how awesome the lights were and how much went into the lights and with the show,” Goedde said.

Ron Kadish: musician, adventurer, publicist and dreamer

A childhood dream to become a bass player came true for New York native Ron Kadish, playing gigs with celebrities such as John Denver, The Moody Blues and Sandy Patty. This pursuit was not easy, but he describes his journey as necessary.

“Making money is by far the hardest,” he said. “Apparently people don’t want to pay for music.”

Best part of conducting random interviews – finding new perspectives

Talking to strangers has never really been a challenge for me. I thoroughly enjoy making conversation with someone I have never engaged with, specifically to gain a new perspective on something. My beat, arts and entertainment, is the main topic of conversation that I like to have with people.

I’ve always had an interest in what people thought about the Bloomington music scene. I have heard so many mixed feelings about it, so I wanted to find out strangers’ opinion on whether they liked it or not. My main interests were if people thought there were enough music venues and if they liked the acts that performed at these venues.
