HSJI Newsroom

Operating as a converged newsroom, students in this advanced workshop produce a newsroom gallery. Experienced journalism advisers will guide students in brainstorming stories, devising newsgathering strategies, and assembling and producing their contributions to the gallery. Students will work in reporting teams to cover local newsmakers and events during the week. Register in early 2018 for this workshop if you want to improve your skills as a 21st Century journalist and gain leadership experience in a newsroom setting. Selective enrollment: requires application and sample work. Although students must select a concentration (reporting, design, photo/video, or social media) when applying, they will have opportunities to practice multiple forms of journalism.
