Mark your calendars for the 2017 High School Journalism Institute. Sponsored by the Indiana University Media School, the institute is designed for high school students who have accepted a position in high school media or for those interested in learning about journalism prior to their senior year.
Participants will examine the role of the media, analyze their own and other student publications, and develop the skills needed to produce quality publications. Faculty members from Indiana and around the country will guide study during this, the 71st consecutive journalism institute.
Students also will contribute material to Student Gallery, a website to showcase work and blog about events during the workshops. Participants also will take part in Lunch with a Pro sessions. Media professionals from all areas of journalism — broadcast, design, public relations, reporting and photography — will visit each session to have lunch with students and answer questions about work and careers.
